DSC Members!

First and foremost, we hope that you and your families have stayed healthy and safe as we’ve all dealt with COVID-19. With the recent Executive Order from the Governor’s Office allowing outdoor pools to open, we would like to officially welcome you to the 2020 season of the Dumont Swim Club. Our anticipated opening will be on July 4, 2020.

The Board of Trustees and the Management Staff have been working diligently to allow us to open our doors. Providing a safe and healthy atmosphere at the Club is our first priority, the second being our financial well-being. Balancing the restrictions and regulations mandated by the Executive Order with the current and anticipated membership has proven to be a difficult task.

As you all know, our daily operations will be different than in years past – for both our members and staff. The following is a brief outline of some of the changes we will experience this season – all of which are subject to change if regulations are loosened.

  • The number of members on the grounds and in the pool will be limited by State Board of Health regulations. Social distancing will be effect both on the grounds and in the pool. Proper hygiene will be encouraged, including sanitizing stations installed throughout the club and restrictions on the number of people in the restrooms at any given time. Social distance coordinators and bathroom monitors will help ensure compliance

  • The bathrooms and grounds will be disinfected regularly throughout the day. Changing rooms will be unavailable this year and showers will be available as dictated by code. Masks are not permitted while in the pool, but all members must wear masks while walking the grounds. Proper footwear must be worn in the restrooms at all times

  • There will be no Swim & Dive Team, lessons or adult swims. Two lap lanes will be available at all times. Pool toys and inflatables of any kind are not permitted on the grounds or in the pool

  • The food hut will be closed and tables and grills will be unavailable. Food may not be ordered in. Snacks and drinks are allowed, but in order to limit our staff’s exposure, what’s carried in should be carried out. There will be no parties or guests permitted

  • Hours of Operation will be Tuesday through Sunday, 1PM – 7PM. The club will be closed on Mondays

Considering our membership and the regulations under which we have lived our daily lives these past few months, we are anticipating a seamless transition this season at the Club. Currently, the pool is almost empty and will be power washed, acid washed, filled and chlorinated in short order. The fence has been ordered and is ready to be installed and our grounds will be cut, trimmed and fertilized by Friday.

Even though our season will be shortened, we are likely to incur greater expenses this year. While many clubs are not reducing their rates this year, we have decided to offer everyone the bondholder rate for the 2020 season. Please see our Membership Page for application forms and rates.

Despite all the effort put for by our Board, Management and Staff, we can only be as successful as our membership allows. Given the uncertainty with other summer and vacation options, we hope you realize what a fantastic opportunity awaits you at the Dumont Swim Club.
